The election for officers of the Jamaica fire department was held Tuesday evening with the following results: W. Augustus Shipley, chief; Elkanah Barto, assistant chief; John A. Powell, clerk; James A. Scott, treasurer; Jacob Shipley, William M. Baylis and S. H. Henderson, wardens. There was but one ticket.
