Judge Garretson has approved the decision of the commissioners that Highland avenue, Glen Cove, is a necessity. The avenue deserves more than a passing notice on account of the many advantages the community will derive from it, particularly when the Long Island railroad company has built the new station and has extended the avenue over the property secured some time ago from the estate of the late James Titus.
—The Long Island Farmer, Jamaica, NY, Feb. 8, 1895, p. 12.
