Ex-Justice James Merritt of Glen Cove, was taken to Long Island City Thursday to await the action of the grand jury. Mrs. A. A. Simonson, his former housekeeper, brings a charge of perjury and unjust arrest against him. Justice Merritt charged her with stealing two hair mattresses, four wash bowls, one carving set, one child's rocker and one pail. The constable searched Mrs. Simonson's house, but did not find the missing articles. In December he had her rearrested for other missing articles, but found nothing. He got bail on Monday.
