Fire Department Officers Nominated

New York, 1895

Delegates from the several companies of the Jamaica fire department met in the rooms of Continental bucket company on Tuesday evening, and made the following nominations: Chief, W. A. Shipley; assistant chief, Elkanah Barto; clerk, John A. Powell; treasurer, James A. Scott; wardens, William M. Baylis, J. A. Shipley and Jacob Fox. The election will be held in Trustees' Hall on Tuesday evening, February 5.

There are 158 men in the department, as follows: Woodhull hose Co., 21; Excelsior hose Co., 28; Fosdick hose Co., 18; Distler hose Co., 26.; Resolute hose Co., 21; Atlantic hook and ladder Co., 30; Continental bucket Co., 14.
