The town board held a meeting at the Town Hall on Friday. Supervisor Everitt presided. Oyster land leases were granted as follows: George C. Starkey, 1 acre, $5; James De Mott, 1 acre, $5; Lockwood Smith, half an acre, $2.50; Pliney Doughty, 2 acres, $10; George W. Doughty, 2½ acres, $12.50; Henry Cornell, 2 acres, $10; George W. Pearsall, 3 acres, $15; Alfred Pearsall, 1½ acres, $7.50; George Reinhart, 1¾ acres, $8.75; Richard Smith, 1 acre, $5; Hewlett Mott, 2¼ acres, $11.25; Valentine Smith, 1 acre, $5; George S. Smith, half an acre, $2 50.
A copy of a resolution, asking that the town board request the constables to enforce the wide tire law, passed at the Long Island farmers' club meeting, was received.
On motion of Justice Lester, the town clerk was requested to procure the wide tire law, furnish the constables with the same, and ask them to enforce the law.
The committee to purchase a safe for the town clerk's office, in which to keep the maps, and the committee to purchase desks for the members of the board, reported progress.
Town Clerk McCook was empowered to purchase a clock for his office at a cost not to exceed $10.
The following bills were ordered paid: Hugh J. Swift, constable, $54.70; Stephen Goldrick, special deputy sheriff, $3,75; Pecare hose company, rent of house for election purposes, $30; Newton F. Waters, stationary for assessors, $5.50.
