The Choral Society's Rehearsal

New York, 1895

The chorus of the Jamaica Choral society had its first rehearsal Monday night. The rehearsal was held in the large room in Union Hall seminary. Musical Director Coleman, of New York, was introduced to the assembly by President Wyckoff.

The voices were divided off into sections — sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. It is hoped that by the next meeting a number of additional altos will be enrolled. Indeed to balance the sopranos, additional tenors and basses, besides the altos, are needed. About thirty-five voices were present.
