Henry Schussler, proprietor of the Manhattan metal works at Amityville, who disappeared January 1, leaving his employes his creditors for salaries unpaid, was arraigned before Judge Martine, in New York on Saturday for trial on the charge of swindling Moses & Kaufman, merchants, doing business on Broadway. He was convicted and sentenced to two years' imprisonment.
The Evidence Was Conflicting
The trial of William Willis, foreman of the East Islip Hose company, who was charged with setting fire to the cottage of Charles F. Bound, took place before Justice Griffith Thursday. The trial continued all day and resulted in the dismissal of the complaint on account of the contradictory nature of the evidence.
Long Search for Albertson.
Silas Albertson of Hempstead was taken before Justice Taylor Friday on a charge brought by his wife, alleging nonsupport. A warrant was issued last spring for his arrest, but the officer was unable to locate him. Albertson was placed under $200 bonds to appear in the same court on March 5.
