A Question for the Tax Receiver to Answer

New York, 1895

To the Editor of the Long Island Farmer:

SIR — How is it that on some people's town tax bills there is a tax for "health," and on some other people's bills no such tax at all. I thought every man was taxed alike. I have seen these discriminations with my own eyes. A TAX-PAYER.
