North Hempstead — Joseph E. Firth.

Oyster Bay — George Downing, Dr. F. A. Wright.

Flushing — Clinton B. Smith.

Newtown — John T. Robinson.

Long Island City — Thomas P. Burke, Frank Cordtmeyer, William Richensteen.

Robert Seabury and Thomas P. Burke are Democrats, and all the rest are Republicans.

Flushing Justices Fees

Luke J. Connorton and Thomas Smyth, justices of the peace in Flushing, have brought an action against the town to recover fees which were stricken from their bills by the board of audit. Judge Smyth's bill amounted to $868.20; the document showed that in several instances charges were made for the arrest, hearing and discharge of the same individuals more than once in the same day. One unfortunate young man was arrested no less than twenty-six times and sentenced only once. The bill was cut to $100. That of Judge Connorton was also cut down considerably.
