Not a Word of Explanation

New York, 1895

Assemblyman Vacheron was before the Town Board of Jamaica on Friday, but he said not a word in explanation of his failure to oppose the bill to steal the Normal school from Jamaica. He knows he is guilty, and dare not open his mouth.


Trying to Incorporate a Village

The citizens of Glen Cove are discussing the advisability of incorporating that village. An association has been organized to push the scheme of Incorporation. Committees have visited various villages on the island securing data as to the cost of village government.


Stood in Randall's Way

At a meeting of the trustees of Brookhaven town they declined to permit Charles P. Randall to purchase a certain piece of shore front on Port Jefferson bay.
