Tommy Creed and Eddie Loeber, the Brooklyn featherweight pugilists, have been matched to fight to a finish for a purse and a stake. The contest is scheduled to take place in private at Ridgewood this month.
Odd Fellows' Celebrate
The celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Hempstead lodge No. 141, I. O. O. F., occurred at Liberty Hall, Hempstead, Tuesday night. A large number of odd fellows from the different towns on Long Island attended. The ceremonies were public.
Must Hold a Conference First
It is stated that the management of the Steinway electric railway has determined to extend its lines to Whitestone. It is said that some of the officials of the road have arranged for a conference with Captain Merritt, president of the village, to discuss the route before applying for a franchise.
Westbury Property Sells High
William Hawxhurst of Westbury recently sold to New York parties 13 acres of land for $13,000, and the same purchaser bought of the estate of the late Edmund Seaman the farm formerly occupied by the late Rachel Hicks, about sixty acres, for $10,000.
