The new board of excise of the town of Oyster Bay met at Glen Cove on Saturday afternoon. They decided to raise the hotel license from $50 to $100 and beer license to $50. The citizens of Glen Cove now look for the closing of some of the forty-two saloons maintained in a village of 5,000 inhabitants.
Want to Fill up the Creek
The Village Association of Flushing have appointed a committee to protest against the building of a canal from Newtown Creek to Flushing Bay. It was the opinion of those at the meeting that a canal could be injurious to the health of the people.
Two Separations Granted
Two separations were granted Wednesday morning by Justice Barnard, in the Supreme Court, Long Island City. The first was to Willis E. Morgan, of Whitestone, and the other to Mary J. Crooker, of Port Washington, with $5 a week alimony.
