New York, 1895
People who have seen Assemblyman Vacheron parading in luxurious clothing, patent leather boots and a tall silk hat, and riding about New York in a cab, will be surprised to learn that Ferdinand Bochler of Woodhaven has consulted with Counselor Monfort about the expediency of bringing an action to dispossess Mr. Vacheron from the building in Ozone Park in which he has what he calls his "law office." Mr. Bochler told a FARMER reporter that Mr. Vacheron is several months behind in his rent and owes him a considerable sum of money. Mr. Bochler said further that his attorney, Mr. Monfort, said he would try and get the money from Mr. Vacheron by seeing him personally before starting a law suit.
